Image Comics have released this somewhat depressing teaser image for what is presumably the beginning of a new story arc in Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead. I guess we'll have to wait and find out in issue #80, hitting shelves in December.

Anime Reviews - K-On! Vol.1 (Blu Ray)

Madman have released the first four episodes of K-On!, the smash hit series based on the four-panel manga phenomenon by Kakifly. Although reasonably unknown here in Australia, K-On! sold it's socks off in Japan before being released in English by Yen Press. "When Yui Hirasawa enters high school, she wants to join a club but can’t decide which one is right for her. Fortunately, the Light Music Club is desperate to find another member or they’ll be disbanded! So, with the enticement of delicious snacks and assurance that no musical experience is necessary, Yui joins the Light Music Club. She becomes the guitarist in this all-girl high school rock band with Mio Akiyama on bass, Tsumugi Kotobuki on keyboard and Ritsu Tainaka on drums. Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Movie (Blu-Ray) Review

Before you say it, yes, I'm aware Puella Magi Madoka Magica  (or PMMM for short, which sounds like a noise of satisfaction you'd make with a pinched nose) - the deconstruction of the Magical Girl anime genre that would spawn classics like Sailor Moon - started life as a 12-episode anime series followed by a successful series of manga adaptations. I'm also aware that the two discs that form this compilation movie are basically a retread of the series with some of the fatty bits trimmed off, much like what Evangelion did with Death and Rebirth  back in the day.  I am therefore aware that praises and criticisms I might level come with an asterisk floating beside them, as this is essentially like saying something about a trailer that judges the entire finished product (topical!).
