Both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City were released to great fanfare upon their release in 2009 and 2011 respectively. The third in the series, Batman: Arkham Origins, has seen one major change in the franchise with the baton being passed from initial developers Rocksteady, to WB Games Montreal. While the developer may have changed, just about everything else has stayed the same. In Arkham Origins, Batman has been wearing the cape and cowl for a meagre 2 years. Still somewhat of a greenhorn, he is yet to encounter many of the characters who will eventually become staples of the Bat's rogues gallery. Essentially, Arkham Origins is your run of the mill prequel.

At this years EB Expo in Sydney, the Warner Bros Games pavilion was chockablock with goodies and punters lapping it up. From the terrifying Dying Light and post-apocalyptic Mad Max to the delightful and family friendly Lego Marvel Superheroes and Scribblenauts Unlimited, WB has something for everyone ESPECIALLY if you're a Batman fan. With the imminent launch of WB Games Batman: Arkham Origins, we had the chance to chat with WB Games Creative Director, Eric Holmes. Welcome to a fledgling Arkham for the story behind the story. Batman is being hunted by a crew of the worlds deadliest and must use all the tools at his disposal to escape from the clutches of Black Mask.  It looks as though much of the gameplay in Origins walks the same line as the previous two games and, while that's not a bad thing, hopefully we'll see some innovation in upcoming videos. In the meantime, enjoy some gameplay of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins. On the eve of the E3, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has unveiled the debut action-packed gameplay trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins. The first look at gameplay showcases some of the villains players will see in the game – Bane, Deathstroke, Black Mask, Deadshot and The Joker. The more information that comes out about Batman: Arkham Origins, the more I want it to be here now! Unfortunately the all new trailer doesn't show any gameplay but what it does show is that the team in charge of the game has a knack for story telling. However, we do have a couple of screenshots that look as though they're from gameplay. More than just an awesome CGI clip, it shows a Batman who hasn't yet become as grizzled and surly as he was in the most recent games. It also shows a Batman who, while still kicking all sorts of butt, isn't quite as masterful as he will become. It also shows that a CGI film needs to be made, now!
