Geek of Oz

We don't often post news on blanket GEEK news, unless of course it is regarding the release of a new range of Star Wars or Spider-Man blankets. But, in this case we make a special dispensation to announce the official International Geek Pride Day launch of Curicon, a brand new social media network just for us, geeks. Last week old mate Emmet and I had a wee chat about "Grant Morrison: Talking with Gods", an all new documentary about the past, present and future of one of the most controversial comic book creators of all time. Disregard my somewhat incoherent ramblings, it was late and a bottle of pinot had just roughed me up. Emmet's much more coherent ramblings are both insightful and impassioned.

Ho Ho Ho Yo! It's Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza time which means you have to go and spend your hard earned money on a whole bunch of people, some of whom you like and some of whom you tolerate. Here I present to you a handy dandy gift guide for the various geek's in your life.

Beauty and the Geek Australia wrapped up last week on channel 7 with newly remodelled 007 body double Michael Price and his partner Jessie crowned as the winners! As far as ratings go, Beauty and the Geek season two was a great success with the final episode placing 3rd in the weekly ratings.  Follow on for my chat with Michael.

Dependant on popular demand I'm going to use this space to explain how I became the massively geeky chap that I am today. If the folks at home want to hear it, hear it they shall. This is the story of how I became the geek that I am today.

So here we are, my inaugural post on the Geek from Oz. As is the general procedure in social settings, here is me. I'm a geeky chap from Sydney Australia, there, I've said it. There first step is admitting that you have a problem. I'm a massive comic book, movie, book and overall pop culture geek. So in the future that is just what you'll see, posts with news, reviews and other nuggets of goodness about my interests. Hopefully I'll actually post something worth reading, right?
