Firefly takes flight on Blu Ray

There aren't many series quite as popular among geek circles as Joss Whedon's "Firefly" so it should come a no surprise that the critically acclaimed, too-soon-cancelled series has made it's way onto glorious HD Blu Ray.

Featuring a whole swag of special features and a limited JB Hi-Fi exclusive steel book, this is the Firefly release that we've all been waiting for.

Followers of the Whedon gospel rejoice! Brothers and sisters, our time is now.

Sydney, Australia, 22 March 2013 – Fanboys rejoice! It’s time to rejoin Serenity’s crew on a high-definition journey, as Firefly The Complete Series morphs into a “shiny” keepsake on 10 April 2013. This cult-classic series will be re-released on Hi-Def Blu-ray as a strictly limited Collector’s Edition SteelBookTM from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, exclusively created for Australian and UK territories.

Five hundred years in the future there’s a whole new frontier, and the crew of the Firefly-class spaceship, Serenity, is eager to stake a claim on the action. They’ll take any job, legal or illegal, to keep fuel in the tanks and food on the table. But things get a bit more complicated after they take on a passenger wanted by the new totalitarian Alliance regime. Now they find themselves on the run, desperate to steer clear of Alliance ships and the flesh-eating Reavers who live on the fringes of space. Created by celebrated writer and director Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel), there is no power in the verse that will stop you from watching the award-winning Firefly over and over again.
