One Piece Movie: Strong World Blu Ray Review

Image
Let's be honest, feature films based on hit shonen series can sometimes be a little bit lackluster in both appearance and story. They can feel like a cheap cash-grab doing little to further the storyline or flesh out characters. Strong World, the 10th film in the One Piece franchise changes that. 20 years after his escape from Impel Down, the legendary pirate Shiki "the Golden Lion" reappears causing massive upheaval to the Marines. Game Review - One Piece: Pirate Warriors

One Piece is the most successful Japanese comic book series of all time. Consider that for a moment. In an industry that sold 503.61 million copies in 2011, One Piece sold close to 260 million copies.  With such overwhelming success undoubtedly comes a plethora of licensing opportunities in virtually every form. Clothing, action figures, games consoles, cafes and full time dedicated gift shops have been emblazoned with Eiichiro Oda's creation.  After the release of more than THIRTY official licensed One Piece games we get One Piece: Pirate Warriors which is developed by Tecmo Koei and published by Namco Bandai.  Taking all of this facts into the consideration, One Piece: Pirate Warriors must be pure win, right?

Manga Review - One Piece Volume 1

In 14 years, I must sadly admit that I had not read a single volume or watched a single episode of One Piece. That is, until today. I have just finished the first volume of One Piece and the first thought I had when I closed the back cover was "yeah, I get it". I immediately understood why One Piece has sold more that two hundred and forty MILLION copies since its release making it the most popular manga series of all time. In fact, the English language copy that I read was the SEVENTEENTH printing from Viz. "As a child, Monkey D. Luffy dreamed of becoming the King of the Pirates. But his life changed when he accidentally gained the power to stretch like rubber - at the cost of never being able to swim again! Now Luffy, with the help of a motley collection of pirate wannabes, is setting off in search of the "One Piece," said to be the greatest treasure in the wor...
