WE LIKE TO WATCH: EPISODE TWENTY EIGHT - ROGUE ONE

Episode 28! Stu and Billy travel to a galaxy far far away this week as they watch Rogue One ! Rogue One  is the first anthology film in the Star Wars universe set before Episode IV A New Hope , and tells the story of how the Rebel Alliance stole the Death Star plans. The film is directed by Gareth Edward ( Godzilla (2014), Monsters ) with a screenplay by Tony Gilroy ( Jason Bourne Series ), and Chris Weitz ( Cinderella (2015), The Golden Compass ). The film stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alantudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen, and Forest Whitaker. This week discussion of the film is spoiler heavy so be warned.  As well as the film, Stu and I discuss what else we've been watching this week, and look over the latest in movie news. WE LIKE TO WATCH: EPISODE TWENTY FIVE - ARRIVAL

Episode 25! Stu and Billy communicate with Alien Life this week as they watch Arrival ! Arrival  is a science fiction mystery/thriller film directed by Denis Villeneuve ( Prisoners,   Enemy, Sicario, and currently filming Blade Runner 2049), and is based on the short story "Story of Your Life" by author Ted Chiang. The film stars Amy Adams as Linguistics professor Louise Banks, who is tasked with leading a team of investigators when 12 gigantic spaceships land at various locations around the world. As nations around the world teeter on the verge of global war, Banks and her crew, which include theoretical physicist Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner) and US Army Colonel Weber (Forest Whitaker), must race against time to find away to communicate with their extraterrestrial visitors. Maybe it’s his own fault … maybe it is Hollywood’s … but somewhere along the way I suspect we’ve all had a hand the in the spectacle that is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career. The moment we let a man in front of a camera because he could lift heavy things, chase ladies and eat baby chickens for breakfast, we were in trouble. Arnold Schwarzenegger is living proof that Hollywood can make a star out of anyone. His latest film, The Last Stand shows that he can still make a schlocky cringe-worthy film. The former Californian Governor plays Sheriff Ray Owens, forced to protect his town from a notorious Mexican Cartel boss, Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), who is on the run after escaping custody.
