C for Control Anime Review

Image
C for Control, also known as [C], [C] - Control and [C]: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control, seems to be following a trend in anime of late. A trend which sees a series focus on economics as a part of its storyline, much like Shangri-La. But does economics have any place in things that are supposed to be... fun? The Japanese government was rescued from the brink of financial collapse by the Sovereign Wealth Fund. For its citizens, however, life has not improved, and unemployment, crime, suicide, and despair are rampant. Kimimaro, raised by his maternal grandmother after the disappearance of his father and the death of his mother, is a scholarship student whose only dream is to avoid all this and live a stable life. One day, however, he meets a man who offers him a large sum of money if he'll agree to pay it back. From then on his fate is radically altered as he's drawn into a mysterious realm known as "The Financial District." - Siren

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 ready to dock in 2013

Image
We loved One Piece: Pirate Warriors and apparently so did many others. So much so that Namco Bandai Games Europe have decided to release the sequel, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2, in the Summer of 2013 so hopefully that will mean an Australian release around June. From the images available, Pirate Warriors 2 looks to be bigger, better and even more polished than the original. Focussing on the later stages of the manga series, Luffy and his crew explore the "New World", encountering new locations and of course, new enemies. Colour me excited and follow after the jump for the full press release!

SEGA and Creative Assembly to create Warhammer Games

Image
Games Workshop's Warhammer franchise is a shining beacon of how something as obscure to the mainstream as tabletop fantasy miniature games can find its way into the public eye. The most relevant example is the much lauded Wahammer 40K: Dawn of War, a science fiction RTS game that captivated hardcore and casual gamers alike. So it comes as good news that SEGA and Creative Assembly have joined forces to bring even more games to our screens. Check out the full press release after the jump!

G.I Joe Retaliation Poster Released

Image
G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra wasn't very well received when released in 2009, and it's difficult to assess whether G.I Joe: Retaliation will fare any better and the appointment of Step Up 2 and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never director, Jon Chu, does little to instil confidence. That said, the very same man has also been tapped to bring 80's kid favourite HE-MAN back to the big screen so perhaps the studios know something that we punters do not. Hopefully, the larger and more experienced cast are a sign of good things to come. So, does this all new poster excite?
